Job DescriptionJob DescriptionWe are offering an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Controller to join our team in Lexington, Kentucky. This role operates within our finance department and involves key financial processes such as participating in the monthly financial close cycle, performing financial analysis and modeling, and maintaining rigorous controls.

Responsibilities:

• Assist in coordinating and executing the month-end closing process and the preparation of financial statements.
• Engage in the development and implementation of goals, policies, priorities, and procedures relating to financial management, budget, accounting, and/or payroll.
• Conduct regular review, analysis, and reconciliation of general ledger accounts, bank statements, and balance sheets.
• Support the Controller with special projects and workflow process improvements.
• Manage the accuracy and productivity of day-to-day activities of accounts payable, cash disbursements, invoicing/billing, and fixed asset records.
• Adhere to GAAP principles and regulatory requirements.
• Assist with annual audit preparations and tax returns.
• Review and enhance the accounting systems and procedures, analyzing operations and efficiencies.
• Prepare month-end and year-end journal entries.
• Use Accounting Software Systems, ADP - Financial Services, and other relevant tools to perform accounting functions, auditing, month-end close, balance sheet account reconciliation, and general ledger management.

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role or in the field of finance and accounting

• Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems

• Strong understanding and experience in various Accounting Functions

• Previous experience in Auditing

• Proven ability to handle Month End Close

• Experience in Balance Sheet Account Reconciliation

• Familiarity with General Ledger operations

• Demonstrable skills in Budget Management

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field is required

• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) certification is preferred

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

• Strong analytical and strategic problem-solving skills

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks

• High level of professionalism and ethical standards

• Strong leadership skills and ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
