Location: Brooklyn, NY
Job Description:
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Full-Time Special Education Teacher to join our school community in Brooklyn, NY. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality, individualized instruction to students with diverse learning needs. This role involves developing and implementing IEPs (Individualized Education Programs), collaborating with other educators and support staff, and creating an inclusive learning environment that promotes the academic, social, and emotional growth of each student.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement effective IEPs tailored to each students needs.
- Provide direct instruction in various subjects to students with disabilities.
- Modify and adapt general education curriculum to meet the needs of students.
- Use a variety of instructional techniques and strategies to support student learning.
- Collaborate with general education teachers, paraprofessionals, and related service providers.
- Monitor and assess student progress, adjusting instruction as necessary.
- Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress.
- Participate in IEP meetings and other school-related meetings.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation in compliance with state and federal regulations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Special Education or a related field (Masters preferred).
- New York State certification in Special Education.
- Experience working with students with a variety of disabilities, including learning disabilities, autism, and emotional/behavioral disorders.
- Strong understanding of IEP development and implementation.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
