Job Description

MA will assist the provider throughout clinic with duties including but not limited to:

- Primarily serving patients over the phone with RX verification & appointment follow up

- Occasional scheduling

- Prepare and maintain patient charts to include insurance, registration, correspondence, laboratory and radiology reports, track and request patient records, slides and films; document as necessary in the charts

- Schedule and coordinate appointments, scans and tests; confirm appointments; notify appropriate departments, in writing, of daily and weekly patient schedules

- Receive incoming calls to assist patients, physicians and others with patient-related matters; relay diagnostic test results to patients per physician's discretion; conduct follow-up phone calls to patients with problems and "no-shows"

- Perform BP, TPR and weight on each patient; responsible for alerting physician of abnormalities

- Perform medical history on each patient prior to being seen by physician

- Maintain medical supplies in each exam room and office supplies in clerical area
