Sr. Accountant Opportunity in the Melville area

Anna Parson at Robert Half is seeking a smart, detail-oriented Sr. Accountant to join a Services based client. If you possess strong skills in general ledger accounting for multiple entities, knowledge of intercompany accounting and transactions and have a firm foundation in GAAP, then this is a golden opportunity for you to utilize and expand your accounting skills in a challenging yet rewarding environment.


As the Sr. Accountant you will:

  • Maintain and reconcile all the accounting for multiple entities and track and reconcile intercompany transactions.
  • Handle full cycle accounting including the preparation of journal entries, maintaining balance sheet schedules, ledgers, and account reconciliations.
  • Ensure financial reporting adheres to GAAP principles.
  • Assist with monthly closings and preparation of monthly financial statements.
  • Assist with accounts receivable and accounts payable as needed.
  • Collaborate with the finance department to automate, streamline, and improve current accounting procedures.
  • Assist with audit support and special projects as assigned by Controller and CFO.

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
  • Proven experience as a senior accountant with a focus on accounting for multiple entities and intercompany transactions.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and other accounting standards.
  • Proficient in general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process.
  • Excellent excel skills along with experience with accounting software.
  • Analytical abilities in managing large amounts of data.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in processing information.
  • Ability to work independently, manage large workloads, and keep deadlines.
  • Position requires a minimum of 3 years of experience in an accounting role with multiple entities and intercompany transactions
