LHH is looking for a full-time Accounts Payable Clerk to join our client growing company in Seattle, WA. This position will be a 6-month contract that is fully onsite at the client location.

Job Summary:

The Billing Clerk is responsible for generating invoices, managing accounts receivable, and ensuring accurate billing to clients or customers. The role includes processing and reconciling invoices, tracking payments, and resolving discrepancies. The Billing Clerk works closely with the accounting and finance team to ensure timely and accurate financial operations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Invoice Generation: Prepare and issue accurate invoices to customers or clients based on contracts, purchase orders, and service agreements.

  • Payment Tracking: Monitor and record incoming payments from clients and customers, ensuring they are processed in a timely manner.

  • Reconciliation: Reconcile billing accounts to ensure all payments are accurately reflected in the accounting system.

  • Customer Communication: Communicate with clients to follow up on overdue invoices and resolve any billing-related inquiries or disputes.

  • Data Entry: Input billing information into the accounting or billing system, ensuring accuracy and completeness of data.

  • Billing Adjustments: Process billing adjustments, credit memos, and account discrepancies, ensuring that errors are corrected promptly.

  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting regulations, and legal requirements in all billing operations.

  • Reporting: Generate reports on billing activities, outstanding balances, and payment status for internal management and auditing purposes.

  • Collaboration: Work with other departments, such as sales and customer service, to ensure proper handling of client accounts and any billing issues.

  • Record Keeping: Maintain organized and accurate records of invoices, payments, and financial transactions in the system.

Qualifications:
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent; an associate’s degree in Accounting or Finance is a plus.

  • Experience: Previous experience in billing, accounting, or clerical roles is preferred.

  • Technical Skills: Proficiency with billing software, Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel), and accounting systems.

  • Attention to Detail: High degree of accuracy and attention to detail in processing and verifying billing data.

  • Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills for interacting with customers and internal departments.

  • Math Skills: Solid understanding of basic accounting principles and ability to perform mathematical calculations accurately.

Compensation: $25-$30/hour DOE
