Job Description:
We are looking for a caring and dedicated School Paraprofessional to join our team in Monroe, WA, for the 2024-2025 school year. This position involves working closely with students, teachers, and staff to support classroom activities and foster a positive learning environment. The ideal candidate will be passionate about helping students succeed and be comfortable working with students with diverse needs.
Responsibilities:
- Assist teachers in classroom management and support students with instructional activities
- Provide one-on-one or small group assistance to students, reinforcing lessons and concepts
- Help create a welcoming and inclusive classroom environment
- Support students with special needs by following individualized education plans (IEPs) under the direction of a certified teacher
- Supervise students during classroom transitions, recess, lunch, and other activities
- Assist in preparing materials and organizing classroom resources
- Participate in team meetings, training sessions, and professional development as needed
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Associates degree or higher in education or related field preferred
- Experience working with children in an educational setting is a plus
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, staff, and students
- Patience, compassion, and a commitment to fostering a positive learning environment
