Virtual School Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP)
Location: Texas, USA (Remote)
Job Type: Fulltime, Work From Home Contract
Pay: $45/Hour
As a Virtual School Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP), you will play a vital role in providing comprehensive speech and language services to students enrolled in our virtual school program. You will collaborate closely with teachers, parents, and other members of the multidisciplinary team to assess, diagnose, and treat communication disorders and delays in students from diverse backgrounds.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough assessments to evaluate students' speech, language, communication, and swallowing disorders.
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to meet each student's unique needs and goals.
- Provide direct therapy services to students through live video conferencing sessions, utilizing evidence-based practices and innovative therapeutic techniques.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to integrate speech and language goals into the overall educational curriculum.
- Monitor students' progress regularly and adjust intervention strategies as needed to maximize outcomes.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of assessment results, progress reports, and therapy plans in compliance with state and federal regulations.
- Serve as a resource to educators and families, offering guidance and support on strategies for promoting communication skills in various learning environments.
- Stay informed about current trends, research, and best practices in the field of speech-language pathology, and participate in professional development activities to enhance your skills and knowledge.
- Adhere to ethical standards and professional guidelines set forth by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) and the Texas Board of Examiners for Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology.
Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
- Valid Texas license or eligibility for licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist.
- Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) from ASHA preferred.
- Prior experience working as an SLP in a school setting, with experience in virtual or teletherapy highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of child development, learning theories, and educational practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with students, families, and colleagues in a virtual setting.
- Proficiency in using technology platforms for remote communication and therapy delivery.
- Ability to work independently and manage caseload efficiently while adhering to deadlines and regulations.
- Commitment to cultural competence and sensitivity in working with students from diverse backgrounds and identities.
