Responsibilities
Under the direction of the Facilities Shift Supervisor the incumbent functions as a working leader to coordinate the tasks, activities, supplies and equipment of the painters.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Exhibit conduct in accordance with all Gaming Commission Regulations and Seminole Tribe of Florida departmental policies and procedures.
- Must adhere to the Seminole Tribe's Policies and Procedures.
- Prepares and applies paint and related coatings and wall coverings to interior and exterior surfaces of on and off-site locations.
- Applies paint with cloth, brush, sponge, fingers or plastic to create special effects; simulates wood grain, marble, brick tile or other specialty effects.
- Smoothens surfaces and removes old paint from surfaces for painting; prepares surfaces as appropriate and cost effective; fills voids with putty type filler; removes and replaces wall fixtures.
- Selects premixed paints, color matches or mixes required portions of pigment, oil and thinning and drying substances to prepare paint that matches specified colors.
- Erects scaffolding or sets up ladders to perform tasks above ground level.
- Maintains tools, equipment and supplies in good, clean, operating order.
- Interacts with internal departments to coordinate work flow.
- Promotes positive public / employee relations at all times.
- Maintains a clean, safe, hazard-free work environment within area of responsibility.
- Performs all other related and compatible duties as assigned.
Qualifications
High School diploma or technical certificate required as well as a minimum of three (3) to five (5) years of related experience with specialty coatings and one (1) year of casino experience or an equivalent combination of education and / or experience.
Work Environment:
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms, talk or hear; and taste or smell. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close, distance, color, and peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

- The Casino environment is hectic, fast-paced and often crowded and noisy. May be exposed to casino related environmental factors including, but not limited to, second hand smoke, excessive noise and constant exposure to general public.
- Must be able to communicate effectively with guests in English, specific to position duties and responsibilities.

Second preference is given to members of other federally recognized Native American Tribes who meet the job requirements.
