Job Description
We specialize in manufacturing and supplying braking systems, passenger doors, and climate-control equipment for Mass Transit companies. Additionally, we provide servicing for these products at our Union City location. As a Repair Technician, you will perform repairs and overhaul pneumatic, mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical equipment, focusing initially on brake systems. Upon completing your assignment, you will have the opportunity to train and become certified in HVAC systems.
Responsibilities- Disassemble equipment and clean as needed.
- Perform initial evaluation and inspection of equipment, providing feedback on required parts and labor for repair.
- Document evaluation findings and generate Technician Evaluation Reports.
- Route wires and install crimp terminations and/or connectors.
- Test and record results for subassemblies and assemblies.
- Perform component-level and some system-level testing as instructed.
- Interpret readings of gauges, indicators, and dials.
- Assist in testing equipment and recording test results.
- Perform scheduled and unscheduled preventative maintenance and calibration on equipment as instructed.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and healthy environment while ensuring compliance with company rules and policies.
- Comply with quality, product safety, and HSE rules, guidelines, and regulations.
- Maintain and safeguard business records.
- Troubleshoot pneumatic, mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical problems.
- Experience using hand and power tools.
- Mechanical and electrical inclination.
- Ability to read and follow diagrams and written instructions for assemblies and repairs.
- 3+ years of relevant experience in a role requiring the use of hand/power tools for assemblies/repairs.
- 3+ years of experience in troubleshooting.
- 3+ years of experience reading and interpreting blueprints/diagrams and written instructions for builds and breakdowns/rebuilds.
- Mechanical aptitude for equipment maintenance and mechanical inspection tools.
- Time management skills to ensure equipment readiness for scheduled repair or overhaul.
- Problem-solving and decision-making skills guided by policy, routine, and procedures.
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word for data entry and report writing.

Work EnvironmentThe work environment involves sitting, standing, walking, crouching, kneeling, and pushing/pulling. The maximum lifting/carrying requirement is 50 lbs. You will work in a shop environment with a shift from 5:00 am to 3:30 pm, Monday - Thursday, with occasional Friday shifts when available.
