Maaco Collision Repair and Auto Painting is seeking individuals who are self-motivated with a passion for success to join our growing team as Painter or Auto Body Technician.

 

AUTOMOTIVE PAINTER:

Roles and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
 Clean and wipe down vehicles
 Maintains a clean and organized work area
 Inspect all vehicles and parts scheduled to be painted
 Maintain painting equipment to ensure proper performance
 Maintain the cleanliness of equipment, mixing area paint booth
 Mix paints and primers to exact specifications as per paint manufactures
 Work with other departments to ensure a quality products and on-time delivery
 Must review the repair order for each vehicle prior to beginning any work on the vehicle
 Painters must follow high quality standards to minimize defects and exceed company standards
 Keeps track of allotted vehicles while helping to keep all vehicles on schedule for stated delivery date
 Fulfill all painting processes for vehicles according to Atticus Franchise Group-Maaco manufactures requirements
 Liftting, preparing, sanding, taping, masking cleaning of vehicles prior to being moved into the booth

 Priming, sealing, jamming of replacement parts. All while maintaining an acceptable cost per paint labor hour
 Identification, safe handling, and appropriate disposal of materials and acquire knowledge of OSHA and EPA requirements
 Must be able to walk, stand, stoop, kneel or crouch in providing a properly prepared vehicle for painting
 Must communicate with employers and other employees to plan and execute a quality repair on a variety of vehicles, including cars trucks
 Attend ongoing participation in the I-CAR ProLevel training and other Atticus Franchise
Group-Maaco /industry-required training
 Efficiently work and maintain company minimum standards

Daily Area Cleanup/Maintenance:
 Paint Mixing Area: maintain clean and organized
 Spray Booth: Check Balance Gauge, Clear off Debris, Sweep Floor, and Blow/Vacuum Interior
 Drying Enclosure/Cure Oven: Sweep Out Floor, Wipe off Reflectors
 Spray Gun: clean and balance

Weekly/monthly Area Cleanup/Maintenance:
 Spray Booth - Vacuum / Blow off Exterior/Top Glass, Scrape and/or Strip all Overspray off the Floor, Clean Interior Lighting Glass, Touch Up White Interior Walls (Spot Paint any Overspray)
 Drying Enclosure/Cure Oven: Vacuum Top, Inspect Air Intake Filters, Replacing as Necessary, Wash Down Interior Walls
 Spray Gun: Clean in Gun Washer
 Complete Teardown Clean

 

 

AUTOBODY REPAIR TECHNICIAN RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Thoroughly examine the vehicle damages

  • Return the vehicle back to factory specifications

  • Remove vehicle trim to gain access to vehicle body

  • Can properly fill depressions with body filler and insure a quality repair

  • Able to remove damaged parts using power tools and cutting torch

  • Bolt or weld replacement parts in position using power tools and welding equipment

  • Straighten bent automobile frames using frame wrack

  • File, grind and sand repaired surfaces, using power tools and hand tools

  • Aim headlights

  • Replace bolts on panels and align properly

  • Make cosmetic repairs

  • Perform other duties as assigned by management

  • Use special equipment to restore damaged metal frames and body sections back to

    original specifications

  • Able to develop appropriate and efficient methods for each job

 

COMPETENCIES/SKILLS

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.

  • 2-4 years body shop experience strongly preferred.

  • Effective and strong communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills required.

  • Ability to work in a high performance, fast-paced team environment.

  • Ability to adapt to and work effectively within a constantly changing environment.

  • Excellent problem solving skills required.
