Job DescriptionJob DescriptionWe are seeking a highly experienced Director of Conference and Meeting Planning to lead our team and ensure the success of our client events. The Director of Conference and Meeting Planning will oversee the department, evaluate client needs, manage the contracting process, and lead a team of Event Planners. This role is crucial in ensuring the continued success of our client events.
Key Responsibilities:
Collaborate with Association leadership to identify conference and meeting needs, timelines, and budgets.
Assign staff to work with Association Managers to design and implement successful events, focusing on continuous improvement within defined parameters.
Provide daily guidance to the Conference and Meeting Planning staff to achieve client objectives.
Oversee the sourcing process from RFP to contract signature, including reviewing and negotiating contracts with venues and third-party providers (AV, decorators, transportation, entertainment).
Offer planning and onsite support to high-level and international clients.
Participate in site visits with clients to determine the best locations for their events.
Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree required.
10+ years of experience in all areas of Conference and Meeting Planning.
Strong leadership skills with the ability to mentor and lead staff.
Highly motivated, professional, dependable, and results-driven.
Excellent problem-solving skills, ability to work under pressure, and manage time effectively.
Strong communication and critical-thinking skills, with the ability to provide clear written and verbal direction.
Extensive experience in all aspects of Meeting Planning, from conception to execution.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
CMP certification required; CMM preferred.
Ability to travel 25%-35% of the time.
