Job Description

Schedule: 2nd shift lab tech | 3pm-11pm | Weekend and shift coverage as needed

Our client is one of the world’s largest agricultural processors and food ingredient providers. Their products are made for food, animal feed, industrial and energy uses.

This Lab Technician will be working with the quality team to perform laboratory analysis and QA/QC checks required for refinery analysis. The job responsibilities will be as follows:

- Conduct laboratory tests and analyze data for a variety of purposes, such as production, pollution control, quality control, and minor research

- Test and analyze products, such as feed, beverage, and industrial alcohol, to determine if the product meets plant specifications prior to release

- Release in-spec vessels and report out-of-spec vessels

- Test and analyze production samples, such as fermenters, beerstills, rectifiers, etc., and report uncharacteristic results

- Document results of tests, readings, etc. in logbooks and in TLC (Total Lab Client)

- Complete certificates of analysis

- Prepare chemical solutions for use in the lab

- Maintain and calibrate all lab equipment and related field instrumentation

- Maintain awareness and adhere to all FDA, GMP, TTB, USP, EPA, OSHA and employer standards and guidelines

- Support and comply with all food safety, quality, and legality requirements

This is a Contract-to-Hire position with a duration of 6 Month(s).

Work Site

This is a fully on-site position in Beech Grove, Indiana.

Work Environment

Starts on 2nd shift 3pm-11pm. May move into 1st shift role down the road. This candidate will be working on-site at ADM Milling (Beech Grove, IN) in a regulated environment. This lab is smaller, and there are a total of 4 lab techs. Instrumentation includes but is not limited to: NIR, pH meter, ovens, and other industry-specific equipment. Candidates must be flexible for shift and occasional weekend work, but can expect an average of 45-50 hours weekly. Very small lab that is very fast-paced. They will work independently with some assistance from the lab manager.
