Mechanical Assembler

We are seeking a Mechanical Assembler with at least 1 year of experience in mechanical assembly within an electronic or mechanical manufacturing environment. This is a 6-month contract-to-hire position located in Plano, TX, with a full-time schedule on the first shift (Monday-Friday, 7am-3:30pm). The starting hourly rate ranges from $16-17, with the possibility of pay increases based on performance. Due to the nature of the work, overtime and weekend hours may be required without advance notice. We are looking for dependable, organized, and mechanically skilled individuals who work well in a team setting.
Responsibilities- Read and understand assembly drawings
- Assemble and build mail automation equipment
- Use both hand and power tools to assemble equipment
- Work independently and within a team depending on the project
- Ability to read assembly drawings
- Recognize parts such as pulleys, bearings, springs, and gears
- Identify hardware including screws, bolts, nuts, washers, and snap rings
- Experience with both hand and power tools
- Previous experience with mechanical assembly
- Attention to detail and punctuality
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to submit to a drug test
