Job Title: Staff Pharmacist - Overnight and In-Patient Experience Required
Location: Chicago, Illinois
Shift: Overnights 9:00pm 7:00am 7 on 7 off

Job Summary:
RPh on the Go is seeking an experienced and motivated Staff Pharmacist with a strong background in Overnight Shifts and In-Patient Pharmacy Services to join our team in Chicago, Illinois. The ideal candidate will provide pharmaceutical care to hospitalized patients during overnight hours, ensuring the safe and effective use of medications, collaborating with healthcare providers, and maintaining compliance with hospital policies and regulations.

Key Responsibilities:
Provide comprehensive pharmaceutical care to in-patient hospital patients during overnight shifts, including medication dispensing, clinical consultations, and therapeutic drug monitoring.
Review and verify medication orders to ensure accuracy, appropriate dosage, and potential drug interactions, especially during high-acuity overnight hours.
Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to optimize medication therapy and patient outcomes.
Prepare and compound sterile medications, including intravenous (IV) admixtures, in accordance with USP standards.
Monitor and manage pharmacy inventory, ensuring medications are properly stocked and available for emergency or critical patient needs during overnight shifts.
Oversee the work of pharmacy technicians, ensuring compliance with all federal, state, and institutional policies and procedures.
Respond to emergency code situations, such as cardiac arrests, by providing rapid medication preparation and delivery.
Review and maintain accurate patient records in the hospitals Electronic Medical Records (EMR) system, ensuring compliance with HIPAA and other relevant regulations.
Participate in hospital committees and performance improvement activities, focusing on medication safety and clinical outcomes.
Provide medication counseling to patients and families as needed, ensuring they understand their treatment plans and follow-up instructions.

Qualifications:
Active Pharmacist license in good standing with the Illinois Board of Pharmacy.
Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree from an accredited pharmacy school.
2+ years of experience working as a pharmacist in an in-patient or hospital setting.
Overnight shift experience is required, with the ability to work independently and handle high-acuity situations.
Strong knowledge of in-patient pharmacy operations, including sterile compounding, IV medication preparation, and clinical pharmacy practices.
Familiarity with hospital pharmacy systems, EMR software, and medication dispensing systems.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with other healthcare professionals.
Detail-oriented and committed to maintaining the highest standards of patient safety and care.
