Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Diesel Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining and repairing heavy machinery, including earth moving equipment, ensuring all equipment operates efficiently and safely. This role involves diagnosing mechanical issues, performing routine maintenance, and conducting repairs on diesel engines and hydraulic systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Inspect, test, and diagnose faults in heavy equipment and diesel engines.
  • Perform regular maintenance tasks, including oil changes, tire rotations, and fluid level checks.
  • Repair or replace defective parts in engines, transmissions, and hydraulic systems.
  • Use diagnostic tools and interpret technical manuals to troubleshoot issues.
  • Conduct safety inspections and ensure all equipment complies with safety standards.
  • Maintain detailed records of all maintenance and repair work.
  • Communicate with equipment operators to understand issues and plan repairs.
  • Ensure a clean and safe work environment by following safety protocols.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a Heavy Equipment Diesel Mechanic.
  • Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulic systems, and heavy machinery.
  • Ability to use diagnostic tools and read technical manuals.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Physical stamina and ability to lift heavy parts and equipment.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; certification from a vocational school or completion of an apprenticeship is preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license.

Work Environment:

  • This position requires working in a workshop environment and on-site in various weather conditions.
  • Physical demands include lifting heavy objects, crawling, bending, and kneeling.
Essential Skills
  • 3-5 years of mechanic experience, with auto mechanic experience being beneficial and applicable to a general mechanic role.
  • Strong mechanical and electrical aptitudes, with knowledge of electrical and electronic systems, internal combustion engines, and hydraulic systems.
  • Proficiency in verbal and written customer service communication.
  • Ability to safely operate lift trucks.

Work Environment

The work schedule is from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday through Friday, with occasional the person and weekend work as needed. The position requires maintaining a clean and safe company vehicle, participating in safety meetings, and ensuring all tools and inventory are secure and organized.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $30.00
