Medical Scheduler

Robert Half is partnering with a prominent hospital in Portland to identify a Medical Scheduler. In this role, you will be patient facing and on the front lines of answering phones to schedule patient appointments. You may provide general reception support and clerical support as assigned. The ideal individual for this role will have excellent customer service skills, the ability to work independently, previous scheduling and EMR experience, and have the ability to multitask effectively.
Responsibilities include:
- Answering inbound patient calls.
- Check-in of patients for appointments and schedule appointments
- Manage patient data and other insurance information
- Document information in the database and assist patients with obtaining or filling out forms
- Perform insurance verifications
- Support new patient intake and patient scheduling functions as needed
- 2+ years of customer service experience in a customer or client facing position
- Prior medical preferred but not required
- Prior scheduling experience preferred
- Friendly demeanor and outgoing personality is ideal
- Strong attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Passion for healthcare and for helping others
