Job Description:
We are hiring a Remote TVI to work with K-12 students. You will assess, plan, and deliver specialized educational programs to help visually impaired students thrive in an academic setting

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough assessments to evaluate students' visual needs and functional vision levels, utilizing tele-education platforms to provide remote instruction and support.

  • Develop and implement individualized educational plans (IEPs) tailored to address each students unique visual impairment, in collaboration with IEP teams.

  • Deliver engaging and interactive lessons designed to promote independence, academic success, and access to the curriculum for visually impaired students.

  • Collaborate closely with school-based teams, including general education teachers, special education staff, and administrators, to ensure students receive appropriate accommodations and modifications.

  • Provide ongoing training and support to school staff and families on the use of assistive technology and strategies for supporting visually impaired students in a remote learning environment.

  • Regularly monitor students progress and adjust educational plans as needed to support their academic and social-emotional development.

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of instructional sessions, progress notes, and IEP-related paperwork, adhering to school policies and legal requirements.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Education for the Visually Impaired from an accredited institution.

  • Valid state certification as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI).

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience working with students with visual impairments, with remote teaching experience preferred.

  • Strong knowledge of Braille, assistive technology, and orientation and mobility strategies.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage students and collaborate with school teams remotely.

  • Proficiency in using tele-education platforms and technology for remote service delivery.
