Job DescriptionJob DescriptionJob Title: Solder Technician

Responsibilities
  • Read work sheets and verbal instructions to determine assembly duties.
  • Select components such as transistors, resistors, relays, capacitors, and integrated circuits.
  • Twist, bend, trim, strip, or file wire leads of components.
  • Ream holes in boards to insert wire leads.
  • Insert color-coded wires into designated holes and clinch wire ends.
  • Press-fit (mount) component leads into boards.
  • Place plastic isolating sleeves around specified wire leads and shrink sleeves into place.
  • Crimp wire leads on the underside of the board.
  • Apply sealer or masking compound to selected parts of the boards.
Essential Skills
  • Proficiency in soldering, assembling, and working with PCB.
  • Knowledge and experience with IPC-610, J-STD, and MIL-SPEC standards.
  • Experience with thru-hole and SMT soldering techniques.
  • Ability to perform point-to-point soldering and assembly.
