Job Summary

As the Production & Inventory Control Manager, you will be a key player in optimizing the organization's production process while maintaining adequate inventory levels and controls throughout the organization.

    Responsibilities

  • Sourcing materials, Negotiating pricing, and Managing supplier relationships. Leveraging these core skills, you will contribute to the seamless flow of products, driving the organization's success in a competitive market.

Key Responsibilities

Production & Procurement

  • · Direct and provide guidance to the procurement team daily.

  • · Manage the production process from sourcing raw materials and working with processors to ensure production meets customer demand while maintaining appropriate inventory levels.

  • · Create and manage purchase orders based on inventory levels and forecasted demand, ensuring timely restocking without over-purchasing.

  • · Monitor delivery schedules of incoming product and expedite orders when necessary to meet deadlines.

  • · Identify areas to streamline the production and procurement areas through automation and innovation.

Inventory Control

  • · Maintain optimal inventory levels to support continuous production and minimize holding costs.

  • · Conduct regular cycle counts and investigate and resolve discrepancies.

  • · Key player in the Company's physical inventory conducted twice per year.

  • · Use historical data and collaborate with sales teams to forecast needs based on upcoming requirements.

  • · Identify areas to strengthen controls and improve procedures to minimize spoilage, waste, and loss.

Required Qualifications

  • · 7 to 10 years of experience in purchasing, inventory management or supply chain roles, preferable in a food manufacturing environment.

  • · Experience with ERP systems.

  • · Proficient with Microsoft suite products, including advanced Excel and reporting skills.

  • · Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with an attention to detail.

  • · Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.

Preferred Qualifications

  • · Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business or a related field.

  • · Experience working in the meat industry.

  • · Experience working in a USDA facility.

  • · Familiarity with ERP system implementations or upgrades.
