Seeking a VMWare Engineer for a large financial company in the Phoenix area to help with a long-term virtualization project.

Notes from Internal Advocate:
• VMware Engineer that will support Horizon View, this person will be the admin for the virtual desktop pools and within each pool there will be 1000 desktops with a goal of about 18 pools by the end of the year. This person will make sure everything is running efficiently, addressing any errors or problems.
• There will be some Tier 2 support for the initial roll out but once the person is up to speed it will all mainly be Tier 3 support
• AMEX is using VMware Horizon View 7.4 and ideally anyone with Horizon View 7x would be fine. This team has very limited access to vCenter and ESXi and most virtualization engineers will primarily be working with these technologies. At AMEX this is hosted by a completely separate team.
• Ideal candidate will have Powershell scripting experience that would be mostly used for vRealize. The vRealize tool is used by admins to monitor all the virtual machines, CPU’s, memory, hard drives, and everything related to performance. This tool can do some action items but primarily is used for monitoring the host (Server that is running ESXi). 1 physical piece of hardware can run 80-100 VM’s.
• Desired technical skills:
o VMware Horizon View
o vRealize Automation (VRA) (automates application delivery and container management)
o vRealize Orchestrator (VRO) (automates complex IT processes)
o PowerCLI (A Windows Powershell interface for managing VMware vSphere)
o App Volumes in VMware (Layering product for virtual machines)
o vCenter (Centralized management application to manage all virtual machines)
