Special Education Teacher (PreK/Early Childhood Autism Classroom)

Location:Harvard, IL
Position Type: Full-Time
Start Date: January 6, 2025 (with potential training and setup days in December)

Job Description:

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Special Education Teacher to join our team in a self-contained PreK/Early Childhood Autism classroom. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the full range of duties associated with classroom teaching and special education case management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students.
  • Create a nurturing and supportive classroom environment tailored to the needs of young children with autism.
  • Collaborate with staff from a partner classroom (another PreK Autism classroom) to enhance learning opportunities and share best practices.
  • municate regularly with parents and caregivers about student progress and goals.
  • Conduct assessments and maintain accurate records of student progress.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development and training.

Schedule:
Approximately 8:05 AM - 11:05 AM, Monday through Friday.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Special Education or a related field (Masters degree preferred).
  • Valid teaching certification in Special Education.
  • Experience working with young children with autism is highly desirable.
  • Strong munication and collaboration skills.
