Job DescriptionJob DescriptionWe are on the lookout for an accomplished Director of Accounting to join our team in Dumfries, Virginia. The chosen candidate will play a pivotal role in managing compliance, overseeing the use of Deltek Costpoint, ensuring GAAP Accounting principles are adhered to, and leading financial reporting procedures.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee the implementation and maintenance of Deltek Costpoint systems to streamline financial processes.
• Develop and enforce strong compliance programs to ensure all accounting activities adhere to regulations.
• Direct and manage the preparation of all financial reports, summarizing and forecasting the organization's financial status.
• Ensure all financial reporting is compliant with GAAP Accounting principles.
• Collaborate with the executive team to align financial management with short and long-term financial planning and projections.
• Identify, develop, and execute analysis of business initiatives, product launches, and/or new service offerings.
• Develop and monitor performance metrics for the accomplishment of the organization's financial goals.
• Direct and oversee all aspects of the finance and accounting functions of the organization.
• Evaluate and oversee all benefits negotiations, thus providing the most competitive packages for the organization's employees.
• Engage with the audit partners to complete annual audits.

• A bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field is required, a master's degree or CPA is preferred.

• Applicants must have a strong understanding of Compliance and its application in an accounting setting.

• Proficiency with Deltek Costpoint is essential for this role.

• The ideal candidate should have substantial experience in Financial Reporting.

• Knowledge and experience with GAAP Accounting is a must.

• Excellent leadership and team management skills are required.

• The ability to develop and implement accounting strategies and processes.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are necessary.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required.

• The candidate must have the ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially in Excel, is essential.
