Robert Half is recruiting for a strong Accounting Consultant to support our large privately held multi-billion dollar transportation client for a fully remote part-time (20-24 hours) position in the Corporate Treasury department. The consultant will be responsible for verifying and reviewing all reimbursable business expense reports for over 1,500 employees within the Expense software system ("Certify" by Emburse), on a weekly and monthly basis. In addition, the consultant will review non-reimbursable expenses relating to the 300-400 Corporate Credit Cards on a weekly and monthly basis. The consultant will reconcile all related accrued credit card payables accounts, and post journal entries in the company's accounting software. Solid understanding of US GAAP is required.

Must be personable with good presentation skills to communicate with all levels of senior management.

Strong Excel skills - Comfortable working with high volume transactions

Skills:

-Large company experience >$500M

Large ERP preferred (SAP or Oracle)

-Strong Excel skills required

-Excellent written/verbal communication skills required

-Must be able to work independently

• Possession of a bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in an accounting role.
• Proven experience with account reconciliation and balance sheet reconciliation.
• Extensive knowledge of general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process.
• Proficiency in creating and posting journal entries.
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel.
• Experience with expense account management, including expense reimbursements and reporting.
• Excellent analytical skills with a thorough knowledge of accounting principles to analyze financial reports and forecasts.
• Attention to detail and problem-solving ability.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Commitment to maintaining strict confidentiality and discretion.
• Willingness to continuously improve and learn new skills.
• CPA certification is highly desirable but not mandatory.
