Contract American Sign LanguageInterpreter

ProCare Therapy isworking with a school district located in Corcoran, CA that is looking to hire an American sign language interpreterfor the 2024-2025 school year with the opportunity to renew for the following school year.

The selected candidate will be hired on as a full time contracted employee through ProCare Therapy. A full school year contract will be awarded for you to complete. While undergoing your assignment, you will be provided with: competitive compensation, weekly paychecks, and superior healthcare benefits through United Healthcare.

Schedule:

  • Full time: 35hours per week
  • Monday - Friday
  • Hours: 7:30 - 3:30
  • Elementary school: TK-1st grade
  • 13 students on caseload
  • 1:1 and group instruction
  • Certified and fluentin American Sign Language

Responsibilities:

  • Provide accurate and effective sign language interpretation for students in various settings, including classrooms, assemblies, and extracurricular activities.
  • Collaborate with teachers, staff, and parents to support the educational needs of students.
  • Adapt interpreting techniques to meet the communication needs of individual students.
  • Assist in the preparation of educational materials in accessible formats.
  • Maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times.
  • Participate in team meetings, training, and professional development sessions as required.

Requirements:

  • EIPA 4.0+ , RID or NIC
  • Bachelor's in ASL or Education Interpreting
  • Previous school experience preferred
  • Must be able to pass a drug screen and background check

  • 10 15 minute screening call with a ProCare Therapy Recruiter
  • 20-30 Minute virtual interview directly with the school district
  • Offer is typically within 24-48hours of the virtual interview
