We are seeking a detail-oriented Medical Billing professional to join our team. As a Medical Billing professional, you will be part of our dynamic team in the Healthcare, Hospitals, and Social Assistance industry. Your role will involve processing customer applications, maintaining accurate customer records, and resolving customer inquiries. This role offers a contract to hire employment opportunity.
Responsibilities:
• Handle the preparation and completion of billing practices, including claims, collections, authorizations, account follow-ups, appeals, and all other necessary billing operations.
• Ensure timely communication and collaboration with all aspects of the office to maintain patient quality and efficient billing and collections.
• Manage the preparation of financial reports for Managers as needed.
• Participate in patient care rounds and Quality Improvement programs.
• Be responsible for setting up initial insurance paperwork necessary for Patient Medical Records.
• Follow up and resolve customer billing complaints.
• Assist in the gathering of supporting documentation required for billing.
• Follow up on insurance denials and prepare reports related to billing and collections as requested.
• Coordinate all individual patient billing specifics with other members of the healthcare team.
• Obtain and maintain accurate and up-to-date authorizations and patients as appropriate.
• Prepare and submit appropriate documentation to payors in a timely manner.
• Possess a solid understanding of basic medical terminology.• Experience in Accounts Receivable (AR) is required.
• Previous experience in billing collection is a must.
• Proficient in collecting payments and managing financial records.
• Degree in finance, accounting, or a related field is desirable.
• Knowledge of medical billing procedures and regulations.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Proficiency in using medical billing software and other relevant computer applications.
• Knowledge of insurance guidelines, including Medicaid and Medicare.
• Familiarity with ICD-10 codes and procedures.
• Ability to maintain patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA guidelines.
