We are in search of a Sr. Accountant consultant to join Robert Half's trusted manufacturing client in Troy, Michigan. The chosen candidate will play a pivotal role in our accounting department, with a focus on improving existing processes and ensuring accurate and efficient handling of our accounts. This long-term hybrid engagement will report directly to the Accounting Manager.


The day-to-day responsibilities include:


• Implement new processes to enhance the efficiency of the accounting department

• Conduct thorough reviews of trial balances

• Handle account reconciliations and balance sheet reconciliations

• Manage the month-end closing process and coordinate related activities

• Prepare and record journal entries, and handle accruals as required

• Work closely with other team members to identify and rectify any gaps in the accounting process

• Utilize SAP for various accounting tasks, ensuring its effective use

• Assist in cleaning up and streamlining the accounts payable process

• Provide clear instructions and training to team members to ensure accurate execution of tasks

• Demonstrate advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel for various accounting tasks.

The ideal candidate will have the following skill set:


• Proficiency in account reconciliation, with the ability to effectively manage and balance various accounts

• Familiarity with balance sheet reconciliation, capable of identifying and rectifying discrepancies

• Experience in handling bank reconciliations, ensuring accuracy and compliance with financial regulations

• Expertise in maintaining and managing the general ledger, with a focus on accuracy and detail

• Ability to prepare and analyze journal entries, with an emphasis on accuracy and timeliness

• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, with skills in data analysis, pivot tables, and complex formulas

• Experience in month-end close procedures, ensuring all financial data is accurate and complete

• Experience with SAP accounting software, with the ability to leverage its tools for effective financial management
