Job Description

This position is responsible for repairing and maintaining electrical systems of industrial establishments by performing a range of duties including assembly, installation, testing, and maintenance of electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, appliances, apparatus, and fixtures.

Responsibilities
  • Assemble, install, test, and maintain electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, appliances, apparatus, and fixtures using hand tools and power tools.
  • Diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components using test equipment and hand tools to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem.
  • Inspect electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair, ensuring compliance with codes.
  • Advise management on whether continued operation of equipment could be hazardous.
  • Connect wires to motors, fixtures, and other electrical equipment; replace switches and fuses; and splice wire and insulate wire with friction tape.
  • Read and understand blueprints and one-line drawings.
  • Clean work area, tools, and equipment.
Requirements
  • Journeyman Electrician License or equivalent experience (8 years of electrician experience)
  • Experienced w/ Installs, troubleshooting, electrical testing, and 480 volt systems
  • 4+ years of experience working in a manufacturing setting
  • 4+ years of experience working on heavy-duty equipment and machinery
  • Ability to read blueprints and schematics
  • Experience editing and troubleshooting PLCs
