Position Overview:
The Controller is responsible for the supervision and daily operation of the business office, including receiving, disbursing, reporting, and accounting for all funds budgeted to the institution.
What youâ?ll be doing:
-Assist the President in developing budgets and reviewing budget reports; prepare budget transfers as required and approve requisitions
-Maintain the chart of accounts; initiate or approve all monthly journal entries
-Prepare year-end reports including adjusting journal entries for accrual basis reports, preparing accrual financial statements per Governmental Accounting Standards Board (GASB) standards, and preparing the Comprehensive Annual Financial (CARF) report for the State Controller
-Administer State grant program reports and request monthly reimbursement of expenditures
-Develop reports and provide training for budget directors/deans to utilize
-Prepare monthly bank reconciliationÂ
-Invest all funds with the State Treasurer
-Reconcile and disburse all payments for employee/employer benefits including health, dental and voluntary insurance, retirement, and other payroll deductions
-Verify disability information when an employee becomes disabled
What you need to be successful:
- Bachelorâ?s degree required.Â
-Extensive knowledge of budgeting, financial reporting, fund accounting, computerized accounting systems, and spreadsheets required.
-Masterâ?s degree or CPA certification preferred.
Compensation:
Salary of $95,000 annually plus benefits including health, dental, and vision insurance plans, 401(k) match, and more
