Special Education Teacher (Pull Out SPED) Near Fordham, NY
ProCare Therapy has a contract position open for a Special Education teacher in The Bronx, NY As a ProCare Therapy employee, you will be compensated with weekly pay and quality benefits. The ideal candidate will be a compassionate educator who can create individualized learning plans, implement effective teaching strategies, and collaborate with other staff members and families to support student success.

Position Overview:
We are looking for a dedicated Special Education Teacher to work with students with diverse learning needs and disabilities, located in The Bronx, NY. You will be working a full time position M,T,TH, F from 8am-5pm and Wednesdays from 8am-3pm. This is an 1st-5th grade caseload with about 13 students. You would mainly assist with math and ELA and there are 2 planning periods included
Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) for students with special needs.
  • Create and adapt lesson plans to meet the diverse needs of elementary school students.
  • Monitor and assess students progress, providing regular feedback and adjusting instruction as needed.
  • Communicate effectively with parents and guardians, providing updates on student progress and addressing any concerns.
  • Maintain accurate records of students progress and other required documentation.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors or Masters degree in Special Education or a related field
  • Strong understanding of IEP development and implementation.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Previous experience as a pull out special education teacher is preferred
