Position Overview: We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Paraprofessional to work in the Gaston County school system. The Paraprofessional will work closely with teachers and students to support classroom activities and ensure a conducive learning atmosphere.
Responsibilities:
- Assist teachers in implementing lesson plans and instructional activities.
- Provide one-on-one or small group support to students who require additional assistance.
- Supervise students in various settings, including classrooms, playgrounds, and during field trips.
- Help maintain classroom order and discipline.
- Support students with special needs or learning disabilities as per Individualized Education Plans (IEPs).
- Assist in grading assignments and maintaining student records.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to ensure student success.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent; associates or bachelors degree in education or related field preferred.
- Need 48 hours college credits
- Previous experience working with children or in an educational setting is advantageous.
- Knowledge of classroom management techniques and educational practices.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Patience, flexibility, and a passion for working with students.
