The Mortgage Specialist will provide skilled telephone and electronic support services to the Servicing Department. This role involves answering incoming insurance-related phone calls and emails, handling member requests and issues, and monitoring the status of homeowners' insurance on all loans to ensure adequate coverage is in place. This is a hybrid position near Grand Rapids.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Track the status of existing homeowner's insurance policies daily using reports.

  • Respond to insurance-related phone calls, emails, and voicemails promptly.

  • Communicate with insurance agencies and other external associates to ensure proper policy documentation is collected and follow up as needed.

  • Monitor reports and manage collateral protection insurance (CPI) policies for force-placed insurance.

  • Review cancellation reports to address cancellation notices and contact members before placing CPI.

  • Ensure current insurance policy information is accurate in all appropriate Servicing systems. Verify core range, deductible, and mortgagee clauses, and make necessary updates.

  • Upload insurance letters into the imaging system and serve as a secondary backup for answering incoming Servicing phone calls.

  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: One to three years of similar or related experience.

  • Education: A high school diploma or GED.

  • Interpersonal Skills: Strong relationship-building and customer service skills. Ability to handle confidential discussions with diplomacy and tact.

  • Other Skills:

    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

    • Strong attention to detail.

    • Effective time management and organizational skills.

    • Ability to prioritize and perform multiple tasks simultaneously.

    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word and Excel).



Pay Details: $19.00 to $21.00 per hour
