Job Description:
Soliant Education is seeking a qualified and passionate Teacher for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) to provide coverage for a maternity leave in Varina, Virginia. This position is for an elementary school setting, serving students in grades K-5. The DHH teacher will work full-time from 7:15 AM to 3:15 PM, providing specialized instruction and support to students with hearing impairments. This is a great opportunity to gain experience in a supportive school environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct instruction and support to students with hearing impairments in grades K-5.
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers and other school staff to adapt lessons and materials for DHH students.
  • Implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) and monitor student progress.
  • Utilize assistive technology and other resources to support students' learning and munication needs.
  • Promote an inclusive and supportive environment for students with hearing impairments.

Qualifications:

  • Valid teaching certification as a Teacher for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH).
  • Experience working with elementary-aged students is preferred.
  • Strong munication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
