Sr. Accountant

Responsibilities:
• Audit internal controls and conduct risk assessments
• Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations and generally accepted accounting principles
• Manage and reconcile bank accounts and accounts receivable
• Maintain and reconcile inventory records, participate in physical inventory counts
• Understand inventory transactions and their impact on the reports used by accounting
• Account for inventory by ensuring it is classified and valued correctly
• Capitalize new equipment purchases, account for equipment disposals, and calculate and record monthly depreciation expense
• Ensure contractual agreements related to assets comply with the new lease accounting standards
• File state sales taxes tax returns and record liabilities and payments
• Process business income tax payments by their due dates
• Record bi-weekly payroll and reconcile to quarterly and annual payroll filings
• Provide financial analysis with an emphasis on new business development, contract negotiations, and changes to operations
• Perform ad hoc analysis and projects as requested.
• Proficiency in Account Reconciliation, Balance Sheet Reconciliation, and Bank Reconciliations
• Strong knowledge and experience in General Ledger management
• Demonstrated ability in making Journal Entries accurately and timely
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel with a focus on financial functions and formulas
• Ability to handle Month End Close processes effectively
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field required
• CPA certification or Master's degree in Accounting or Finance is a plus
• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a similar role
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
• Knowledge of accounting software is a plus.
