Job Title: Revenue Cycle Specialist
Location: Indianapolis, IN - 46219
Duration: 3 - 6 months (with potential for extension)
Start Date: Flexible (1 - 2 weeks)
Work Hours: 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday
Compensation: $16/hour
Training: 6 weeks, including HIPAA compliance and safety training
Top Skills Required:
Insurance experience (especially in prior authorization).
Experience with hospital or healthcare operations.
Basic understanding of prior authorizations, registration, and insurance.
Familiarity with Epic, Cerner, or similar hospital management systems.
Strong communication and organizational skills.
Job Summary:
We are seeking a Revenue Cycle Specialist to join our team, supporting hospital and surgery care operations located in Indianapolis, IN. This role involves handling scope emergency admissions, submitting and following up on insurance claims, and ensuring the approval of inpatient care. You will work closely with nurses to gather the necessary documentation and ensure that all information is accurately submitted to insurance companies for approval. The position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently with minimal direction.
Key Responsibilities:
Submit patient information to insurance companies for inpatient care approval.
Work with nurses to package and send required documentation to insurance.
Follow up with insurance companies to ensure approvals, denials, or next steps.
Implement follow-up procedures to maintain approvals.
Manage the scope of emergency admissions and documentation.
Preferred Experience:
1 year in a similar role.
Prior experience with surgery or DME equipment prior authorizations is a plus.
Interview Process:
1 interview, which may include a team lead or manager.
Cultural Fit:
Must be self-motivated, independent, and organized.
Able to work with minimal supervision and understand what needs to be done.
Must be able to adapt quickly and learn new systems and processes.
