Mechanical Engineering Technician

Mechanical Engineering Technician - Tasks & Duties (What you'll do) 

  • Review project instructions, blueprints, and technical specifications to determine test requirements, objectives, and equipment needed. 

  • Identify technical solutions such as part redesign, material substitutions, or adjustments to assemblies. 

  • Draft detailed drawings or sketches for fabrication by machine, sheet metal, or wood shops. 

  • Devise, fabricate, and assemble new or modified components and assemblies for industrial equipment, machinery, power equipment, servo systems, machine tools, and measuring instruments. 

  • Set up and conduct tests on equipment and components under operational conditions to evaluate performance and gather data for improvement. 

  • Analyze test results in relation to design specifications and modify or adjust equipment to meet objectives. 

  • Record test data, procedures, and results, and provide recommendations for design or process improvements. 

  • Assist with additional engineering duties and projects as needed. 

Mechanical Engineering Technician - Shift Info 

  • Pay: $20+ DOE

  • Day Shift 

  • Monday – Friday 

  • Must be available for mandatory overtime as required. 

 

Mechanical Engineering Technician - Qualifications (Requirements/Skills) 

  • Experience as a Mechanical Engineering Technician or in a related role required. 

  • Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical documents. 

  • Experience with component fabrication and testing of industrial machinery and equipment. 

  • Proficiency in using drafting and CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks). 

  • Ability to analyze and interpret data from tests and make necessary equipment adjustments. 

  • Knowledge of mechanical design and testing equipment, including measurement tools and machines. 

  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. 

  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check. 

  • Must be eligible to work in the US.
