Role and Responsibilities:
  • Perform vital sign documentation.
  • Prepare patients and rooms for exams and procedures.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe environment.
  • Organize and perform patient care services that support the physician’s practice.
  • Prepare patients for examination/procedures.
  • Assist physicians with procedures by documenting medical history and case notes.
  • Relay instructions from the physician to the patient or authorized person.
  • Collect patient data in person and by phone and document patient concerns.
  • Record messages and care provided in the electronic medical record for the physician’s review, administer medications as specifically directed by the physician.
  • Complete and accurate message taking, route messages to the appropriate area for direction, order and referral entry, set up cases in EMR system plus basic registration and update demographics.
  • Accurately document medical information in patient records.
  • Track and route test results to physician(s)/nurse practitioner(s) for review.
  • Communicate test results with patients when deemed appropriate by physician/nurse practitioner.
  • Facilitate patient care activities, including scheduling ancillary tests, reinforcing patient education, and performing triage as appropriate and directed by physician/nurse practitioner (as per site operation).
  • Maintain adequate inventory of medical, office, and pharmaceutical supplies.
  • Perform basic computer skills in using electronic health record proficiently while conducting daily documentation and communications involved in patient care.
  • Process orders appropriately and accurately.

Skills and Qualifications:
  • 1+ years of medical assisting experience
  • Experience utilizing an EMR software
  • Some blood draw/phlebotomy experience preferred
