Soliant is seeking an experienced Pharmacist In Charge (PIC) for a thriving long-term care pharmacy in Melville, NY. This opportunity has bee available due to the current PIC being elevated to a corporate leadership role. As the PIC, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of pharmacy operations, leading a large team, and ensuring high standards of service.

Key Details:

  • Staff Size:
    • 10 full-time pharmacists
    • 5 per diem pharmacists
    • 60 pharmacy technicians
  • Average Volume:
    • 30,000 prescriptions per week
    • Busiest days are Mondays and Tuesdays
  • Hours of Operation:
    • Monday to Friday: 6:00 AM - 3:00 AM
    • Saturday/Sunday: 8:00 AM - 8:00 PM
    • Open 365 days a year
  • Services Provided:
    • Preparation of sterile (IVs/TPNs) and non-sterile medications

Position Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage all pharmacy operations, ensuring smooth workflow and pliance with regulations.
  • Oversee the preparation and dispensing of both sterile and non-sterile medications.
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to a team of pharmacists and technicians, fostering a positive and efficient work environment.
  • Ensure that the pharmacy meets or exceeds quality standards, with a focus on medication safety and patient care.
  • Coordinate with other departments and healthcare providers to meet the needs of long-term care patients.
  • Be available on-site as needed to address any operational issues, provide guidance, and ensure smooth day-to-day activities.

Experience Requirements:

  • 2-3 years of experience in a Manager or Pharmacist In Charge (PIC) role is required.
  • Must have at least 2 years of long-term care (LTC) experience to fully understand the operational dynamics of this setting.
  • Strong leadership skills, with the ability to manage a high-volume pharmacy effectively.
  • Excellent organizational and munication skills to work with a diverse team and ensure the best possible patient care.
