Job DescriptionJob Description

Executes administrative activities and performs a full range of support assignments and uses judgment in making decisions where alternatives are determined by established policies and procedures.  Also responsible for customer service issues and for maintaining the Automotive Traffic group trained, focused, and informed in areas of data entry and U.S. Customs compliance. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day operation of import operations. Duties for this position will include compliance reviews of import transactions, data entry for transmission to customs via the ABI system, keeping all customs entry documentation current, obtaining releases from partner government agencies, arranging delivery and billing after Customs release, daily correspondence with clients and vendors and other duties as may be assigned. In addition, is responsible for auditing all work in progress/completed/submitted by their team.

Salary range: $50,000 – 70,000/yr
Onsite with some travel
 
What’s the Job? 

  • Receive and respond to inquiries by providing instructions or other general information or referring such inquiries to the appropriate people.
  • Educate customers about U.S. Customs and Partner Government Agency (PGA) requirements.
  • File entries with U.S. Customs, ensure timely dispatch of cargo, and perform accurate reporting and billing.
  • Generate, file, and maintain up-to-date and accurate customer records, reports, documentation, databases, etc.
  • Prepare and review routine reports.

What’s Needed? 
  • U.S. Customs Brokers License preferred and at least five years working experience with a licensed Customs Broker, transportation company, or freight forwarder.
  • Bachelor’s Degree or above preferred.
  • Knowledge of Federal Import trade regulations and enforcement
  • Knowledge of Foreign Trade Zone, Reconciliation, Duty drawback filing
  • Familiarization with PGA regulations such as NHTSA, FDA, FCC, USDA, EPA, etc.
  • Provide and ensure a high level of customer service by developing and maintaining a strong relationship with customers' frontline personnel in the various operating divisions and subsidiaries
