Job Description

The Plastics Extruder Operator is the team leader of the production line. It is the machine operator's responsibility to monitor all aspects of their production line to ensure a quality product. The Operator will instruct the Material Handlers on the materials required for the product based on customer order specifications.

Responsibilities
  • Operate extruding equipment using a receipt of raw material according to plan
  • Check temperatures on extruders and die for proper settings
  • Ensure proper pellet size and quality
  • Adjust the extruders to produce production target goals
  • Report mechanical/machine problems to supervisor/maintenance
  • Instruct and delegate tasks to Material Handlers
  • Fill out required checklists
  • Maintain a safe and clean workspace
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Knowledge of Polyethylene, Polypropylene, or Copoly resin/plastics
  • Experience in a production environment where things rapidly change
  • Handling project/product parameters
Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Belmont, North Carolina.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $25.00
