Description:
VocoVision is seeking a qualified Virtual Sign Language Interpreter to provide remote interpreting services for a studentin Alabama. This position is ideal for an interpreterwith a passion for accessibility and education, seeking the flexibility of working from home while supporting diverse learning environments.

As a Virtual Sign Language Interpreter, you will be responsible for facilitating communication between students and educators in virtual classrooms, using your expertise in American Sign Language (ASL) to interpret lessons and interactions in real-time.

Requirements:

  • EIPA Score of 3.0 or higher is required
  • Passed the EIPA Written Test is also required
  • Strong proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL)
  • Previous experience in educational interpreting is a plus
  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment
  • Must have access to a reliable internet connection and necessary technology for virtual interpreting

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide real-time interpretation for a second grade student in a 1:1 virtual setting.
  • Facilitate communication between the student and educators
  • Ensure accuracy and clarity of all interpreted content during classes and social itneractions
  • Maintain confidentiality and follow ethical guidelines of interpreting
  • Collaborate with teachers and school staff to ensure the effective educational experience for all students
