Shift differential for 3rd shift mechanics of $1.25/Hour

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Mechanic to set up, maintain, and repair packaging equipment and machinery. This role involves supervising mechanical personnel, generating purchase requisitions, and interacting with management for new project quotations. The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills and the ability to use hand and power tools effectively. The facility is temperature-controlled, clean, and well-lit.

Responsibilities
  • Set up and break down full line configurations of packaging equipment.
  • Repair and maintain packaging equipment and machinery such as capping machines, labeling machines, bagging machinery, palletizers, and wrapping machinery.
  • Supervise subordinate mechanical personnel and assist in troubleshooting and training.
  • Generate purchase requisitions for materials and parts needed.
  • Interact with management to assist in new project quotation generation by providing input on equipment choices, potential capital purchases, improvements, and estimated output.
  • Use hand and power tools for various tasks.
  • Perform mechanical and electrical troubleshooting.
  • Follow and provide clear instructions.
Qualifications
  • Experience with packaging machinery in distribution centers or warehouses.
  • Experience with preventive maintenance programs.
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting mechanical and electrical issues.
  • Ability to use hand and power tools.
  • Knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics.
  • Independent worker and self-starter.
