Speech-Language Pathologist Assistant (SLPA) - School District near Dallas, GA

Introductory Paragraph: Soliant Health is currently seeking an experienced Speech-Language Pathologist Assistant (SLPA) to join a school district near Dallas, GA. This full-time position entails 37.5 hours per week and offers an immediate start date, with contract duration through May 24, 2024. The SLPA will work in a high school/elementary split, likely on a schedule of 3 days at high school and 2 days at elementary, with a strong likelihood of renewal year after year.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with licensed Speech-Language Pathologists to develop and implement individualized treatment plans for students with speech and language disorders.
  • Provide direct therapy services to students in both high school and elementary settings, targeting goals related to articulation, language comprehension, fluency, and social communication.
  • Conduct screenings, assessments, and progress monitoring to identify students in need of speech and language services and to track their progress over time.
  • Assist in the planning and delivery of interventions to support students' communication skills across academic and social contexts.
  • Maintain accurate and thorough documentation of student progress, session notes, and relevant data in accordance with district and state guidelines.
  • Communicate effectively with teachers, parents, and other educational staff to coordinate services and support students' speech and language goals in various settings.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Speech-Language Pathology, Communication Sciences and Disorders, or related field from an accredited institution.
  • Current certification as a Speech-Language Pathologist Assistant (SLPA) or eligibility for certification in the state of Georgia.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience working in a school setting, preferably with a diverse caseload of students.
  • Strong understanding of school-based speech and language services, including the development and implementation of individualized education plans (IEPs).
  • Knowledge of evidence-based practices and therapeutic techniques for addressing speech and language disorders in children and adolescents.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Proficiency in conducting assessments, progress monitoring, and data collection to inform treatment planning and evaluate outcomes.
