We are seeking self-motivated Press Brake Operators to work at a fabricator of metal machinery and parts in Gorham, Maine.

 

Pay starts at $25.00-$29.00 per hour, depending on experience, operating on 1st shift 8:00am-5:00pm Monday-Friday. Employees are eligible to enroll in our Medical, Dental, Vision, and other benefit plans after 60 days of employment.

 

Required Skills/Experience/Training:

• High School Diploma or GED/equivalent
• 1-2 years or related machine operating experience in a manufacturing facility
• Ability to safely and effectively operate or learn to operate press brake controls
• Familiarity with Amada press brake equipment and controls a plus
• Ability to read, interpret, and follow blueprints, routings, and written and oral instructions
• Knowledge of proper use of measuring tools/gauges and cutting tools

• Outstanding organizational, problem solving, and analytical skills
• Ability to work on complex projects with general direction and minimal guidance
• Flexibility and willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm

 

As a Press Brake Operator, you will work from specifications and drawings to bend, shape, cut and manipulate sheet metal and metal plates with a press brake. The Press Brake Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining Press Brake machinery to ensure that machinery runs smoothly and at capacity and produces high-quality products.

 

Primary Job Functions:

• Operates press brake to manufacture components from sheet metal or metal plates
• Prepares, sets up, and adjusts press brake as required by product plans, specifications, and schedules
• Verifies that sufficient raw materials are available and communicates with supervisor if problems arise
• Measures and aligns materials to be used
• Operates production machinery in accordance with prints and specifications. Assigned machines may include forming rolls, grinders, and similar equipment
• Produces the required quantity of parts within established specifications and tolerances
• Measures finished parts with precision tools, ensuring compliance with function quality and cosmetic specifications
• Maintains logs and records of units produced including a record of errors resulting in rejected or discarded pieces
• Inspects equipment prior to use to ensure proper setup and alignment; performs basic and routine adjustments and maintenance.
