Position: Full-Time Special Education Teacher
Location: Cambridge, MA

Overview:
A full-time Special Education Teacher is needed in Cambridge, MA, to support and educate students with diverse learning needs. This role involves working collaboratively with students, families, and other educators to create a nurturing and effective learning environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for students.
  • Provide differentiated instruction in various settings (inclusive classrooms, resource rooms, small groups).
  • Collaborate with general education teachers and support staff to integrate students with special needs.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, adjusting instructional strategies as needed.
  • Offer direct support to students, including academic, behavioral, and social-emotional interventions.
  • Communicate regularly with parents/guardians about student progress and involve them in the educational process.
  • Participate in IEP meetings, parent-teacher conferences, and professional development.

Requirements:

  • Bachelors or Masters degree in Special Education or a related field.
  • Massachusetts State Certification in Special Education.
  • Experience working with students with various needs (learning disabilities, emotional/behavioral disorders, developmental delays).
  • Strong understanding of special education laws and regulations (IDEA, FAPE).
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
