Job Summary:

The Emergency Medical Services Paramedic (EMT-P) is a critical role within Catholic Health Service, serving as the primary care representative for patients during transports between facilities. This position requires a high level of expertise in emergency medical services, with a focus on providing exceptional patient care and safety.

Responsibilities:

• Respond to emergency calls and provide medical care to patients in need

• Operate emergency vehicles safely and efficiently, adhering to established protocols and procedures

• Maintain accurate records and reports of emergency medical calls, including patient information and treatment administered

• Collaborate with emergency room nurses and physicians to ensure seamless patient care transitions

• Participate in ongoing training and education to maintain certification and stay up-to-date with industry developments

Requirements:

• Current NYS Department of Health Emergency Medical Technician - Paramedic certification

• Valid Class D New York State Driver's License

• Certification in CPR, ACLS, PALS, ITLS (or equivalent)

• Minimum of three (3) years recent clinical experience in a prehospital setting

Working Conditions:

• Subject to internal and external environmental conditions

• Considerable walking and standing during the tour of duty

• May be exposed to communicable diseases
