At Luminis Health, we are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Staff Pharmacist to join our team. As a key member of our pharmacy department, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safe and effective use of medications in our healthcare setting.
Job Summary:The Clinical Staff Pharmacist will be responsible for verifying the accuracy of medication orders, reviewing medication profiles, and providing drug information to patients and healthcare staff. This role requires strong clinical knowledge, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:- Verify the accuracy of medication orders and profiles to ensure safe and effective medication use.
- Review medication orders for potential allergies, drug interactions, and adverse reactions.
- Provide drug information to patients, physicians, and other healthcare staff as needed.
- Supervise and assist pharmacy technicians in the dispensing area to ensure accurate and timely delivery of medications.
- Participate in patient care rounds and unit-based services to promote medication safety and efficacy.
- Collaborate with interdepartmental teams to improve policies and procedures that support the pharmacy department and hospital's strategic goals.
- Educate and supervise technician staff in the preparation of intravenous admixture solutions and chemotherapeutic agents.
- Complete formal in-service training, formulary updates, and other required activities to maintain clinical expertise.
- Doctor of Pharmacy degree or Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy with commensurate experience.
- At least 1 year of experience in an inpatient setting.
- PGY-1 residency or Board Certification preferred.
- Current Maryland State License.
This is a light work position that requires occasional lifting of up to 20 pounds and frequent use of arm and leg controls. The employee will be exposed to blood-borne pathogens and will be required to wear personal protective equipment as necessary.
