Job Summary
The Behavior Specialist will support Bridgewell's mission by providing behavior support services to our residential and/or day services programs. This role will work in coordination with behavior analysts, supervisors, program directors, and staff to assess, plan, implement, and monitor behavior supports that meet regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Participate in behavior assessment to contribute to the design of behavior support strategies.
- Develop and provide materials related to behavioral strategies to program staff.
- Participate directly in the development, training, monitoring, and documentation of behavioral supports.
- Provide directed behavior supports to individuals served as outlined in Behavior Support/Management Plans.
- Assist with program documentation related to the occurrence of targeted aberrant and replacement behaviors.
- Participate in the monitoring of treatment implementation and assessment of treatment integrity.
- Support programs with corollary support plans such as Medication Treatment Plans and Restriction Plans.
- Develop and provide trainings to program staff focused on behavioral principles and data collection processes.
- Assist staff or others in locating and obtaining needed resources for individuals.
- Participate in relevant meetings and the agency's referral/assessment processes.
Requirements
- Masters degree in psychology or a related field.
- At least two years of relevant experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or psychiatric disabilities.
Physical Demands
- Frequently required to climb stairs.
- Must be able to drive a vehicle.
- Normal range of eyesight with or without corrective lenses.
- Normal range of hearing with or without corrective equipment.
