About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Custodian to join our team at Bucknell University. As a Custodian, you will play a critical role in maintaining the cleanliness and safety of our buildings and facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform daily cleaning tasks, including sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming floors, as well as cleaning windows and restrooms.
  • Operate and maintain various cleaning equipment and tools, including industrial cleaning machines.
  • Stock and maintain custodial supply closets, rooms, and lockers.
  • Report accidents, injuries, security violations, and safety hazards to supervisors.
  • Adhere to OSHA standards and safety policies, using personal protective equipment (PPE) as needed.
  • Work independently and as part of a team to provide custodial, housekeeping, and general labor services throughout campus.
Requirements
  • Demonstrated ability to understand oral and written instructions.
  • Customer service-oriented.
  • Detail-oriented and able to take initiative.
  • Able to effectively work independently and as part of a team.
  • Commitment to diversity and inclusiveness.
Physical Demands

This position requires frequent lifting and carrying of objects up to 25 pounds, occasional lifting of items up to 50 pounds, and use of proper safety equipment for hearing, head, eye, feet, hand, and body protection.
