Early Childhood Educator Opportunity

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Early Childhood Educator to join our team at Durango 4C Council (Tri-County Head Start). As a Preschool Teacher 2, you will play a vital role in shaping the lives of young children and their families.

About the Role

This full-time, part-year position is available from August to May, with a 35-hour workweek. You will be responsible for creating a nurturing environment that promotes social-emotional, physical, and intellectual growth in children aged birth to five years.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that align with Head Start Performance Standards and State regulations
  • Build strong relationships with families and engage them in their child's education
  • Supervise and mentor classroom aides to ensure a supportive and inclusive learning environment
  • Maintain a safe, healthy, and developmentally appropriate classroom
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent certificate
  • Previous experience working in early childhood education
  • Ability to obtain a CDA within one year of hire
  • Willingness to pursue further education and training opportunities
