Position Overview:

The X-Ray & Medical Technologist plays a crucial role in the healthcare delivery system by:

  • Ensuring high-quality X-ray images are captured in accordance with established protocols efficiently and accurately.
  • Documenting patient encounters in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) with precision and in a timely manner.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Conducting standard X-ray examinations within recommended timeframes, including:
  • Chest X-ray: 3 minutes
  • Extremity X-ray: 3-5 minutes per order
  • Spinal X-ray: 4-6 minutes
  • Abdomen X-ray: 4-6 minutes
  • Utilizing internal X-ray and care coordination software to document and communicate findings effectively.
  • Managing documentation for multiple patients per hour in the EMR.
  • Coordinating necessary diagnostic tests (e.g., CT, MRI, ultrasounds) and referrals for follow-up care.
  • Assisting physicians with medical procedures within the defined scope of practice.
  • Engaging with patients, pharmacies, and healthcare providers under physician supervision.
  • Supporting licensed practitioners with CLIA waived tests and EKGs as trained.
  • Monitoring supplies for imaging materials and notifying appropriate personnel when low.
  • Maintaining an accurate QA log book, including daily checklists and compliance forms.
  • Troubleshooting equipment and software issues as they arise.
  • Delivering compassionate care to patients throughout their visit.
  • Aiding Medical Assistants with inventory management as needed.
  • Participating in the training and orientation of new X-ray technicians and scribes.
Qualifications:
  • Internal candidates must maintain good performance and adherence to company policies.
  • Graduation from an accredited X-ray Technologist program is required.
  • 4-6 months of relevant experience in a similar role.
  • Ability to explain procedures and position patients for X-rays while adhering to safety protocols.
  • Proficient in using beam restricting devices and patient shielding techniques to minimize radiation exposure.
  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • High attention to detail and capability to work independently.
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities.
  • Familiarity with various computer systems is essential.
  • Positive attitude and ability to foster a supportive environment.
  • Commitment to providing outstanding patient care and support.
  • Bilingual skills are preferred based on location requirements.
Physical Requirements:
The role may involve lifting light to moderate weights and requires extensive computer use.

Compensation:
Pay range is $37.50-$40.00 per hour, with a sign-on bonus available.
